Berrien County, the gateway to West Michigan, is a dynamic place in which to grow up, go to school, work, raise a family, and play. We offer a variety of business, agricultural, recreational, culinary, and cultural opportunities that few other areas our size can match. In 2020, however, we have seen that those assets cannot be taken for granted. A vital community can be brought to an economic, social, and cultural standstill almost overnight by an unseen virus and the resulting economic fallout. For this reason, Berrien County government is more important than ever, as it serves the needs of a diverse community as the most immediate and visible link between its citizens and their governing authorities--through its court system, sheriff’s department, roads department, county clerk’s office, county parks, health department, animal control, and many other important areas. Serious-minded, mature, and thoughtful leadership in county government is more important than ever, which is why I am seeking to serve as your 5th District Berrien County Commissioner.
